Twenty-five SunBird Lady Niners enjoyed golfing with the Sun Lakes Lady Niners on February 27. We were greeted with coffee and pastries at check-in and played a fun scramble with each member receiving a free mulligan and a lucky putt. Fellowship, luncheon and prizes after golf completed the day. Scores were low, ranging from 31-33.
Irene Zeppelin was closest to the pin on hole 15, and Pam Tiffany was closest to the line (five inches) on hole 18. Lucky winners of the 50/50 drawing were Joan Schmidt and Mary Dennis. We look forward to hosting the Sun Lakes Lady Niners at SunBird next year.
Also, we recently had two members score a hole-in-one on the same day. Talk about beating the odds. We had gone a couple years with no one claiming the pot, and then two had to split it. Our two lucky members were Jamie Morgan and June Yates. Most golfers are never going to get a hole-in-one in our lifetime, but FYI, this was June Yates’ fifth.
