Spotlight On Advertiser: Marcie Franklin and Sherlock “Homes” are authors of books on real estate issues

We are pleased to profile the husband and wife real estate team of Marcie and Sherlock. Marcie was born in Southern California and moved to Arizona by way of Las Vegas. She attended Hollywood High School along with such celebrities as Tuesday Weld and Stephanie Powers.

Sherlock was born in Nottingham, England, and his great claim to fame was that he actually camped in Sherwood Forest as a teenager before being forced to leave by the game warden. He immigrated to Canada in 1969 to escape the cold conditions in England (out of the frying pan and into the fire).

After attending a chiropractic college in South Carolina, he opened his practice in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in Amish country. He retired in 2000 and moved to Scottsdale. Marcie and Sherlock met eight years ago, and he joined Marcie in real estate shortly after.

Marcie is an old pro in this business, having been in real estate for over 20 years. But they also realized the importance of the public being well informed when buying or selling a home. So they set about co-authoring books on such topics as How to Sell Your Home Yourself, How to Buy a Home and Avoid Potential Pitfalls, Selling Your Home in a Divorce and others. These books are available free from Marcie and Sherlock (call 480-495-6800).

Marcie’s passion is yoga, and she attends classes in SunBird three times a week at the clubhouse. Sherlock loves golf and singing. In fact, he has appeared in many shows at SunBird as well as performing at the Chandler Center for the Arts. He also spearheads the Trivia Club at SunBird. They are residents of SunBird.

Marcie is a HomeSmart agent specializing in SunBird properties. She can be reached at [email protected] or by visiting www.azretirementsunbird.com or calling 480-495-6800.
