Korean War Veterans news

The R Countryman Chapter of the Korean War/Korea Service Veterans will meet on Tuesday, April 28 in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club at 10:00 a.m. This month our guest speaker will be Pearl Harbor Survivor Jack Holder of Sun Lakes. Jack joined the US Navy at 18 years of age and, after serving for almost eight years, was honorably discharged as a First Class Aviation Machinist Mate in 1948.

Jack will highlight some of his wartime experiences from surviving the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor to the Battle of Midway; flying patrol over Guadalcanal and the English Channel, as well as a few others. Due to the limited time to share his personal history during the meeting, Jack will be bringing copies of his recently published book Adrenaline, Excitement, and Fear for those that would like more details of his fascinating adventures. Books may be purchased for $25.

A special thank you goes out to our March speaker, the Sun Lakes Fire Department! Thank you for sharing valuable information!

All guests are welcome and you can check us out on our website at www.kwvacc.org or contact Commander Jay Sanderson at 480-895-2950.
