Our first summer project began in June when Jack Cooper, a Golf Club Board member, asked for Gudie Huffman’s help in designing and planting a new garden on the golf course at the intersection of La Costa and Championship Drives. Gudie was hesitant at first because of the summer heat, but agreed to assist as the Garden Club’s Master Gardener. Please refer to Jack Cooper’s story about this project under Golf Course news. Gudie also indicated she would now consider another summer project due to the success of this one.
The first meeting of our Garden Club will be Friday, November 9, at 9:00 a.m. in the ballroom. We encourage new residents to attend to hear about ongoing and future projects to beautify SunBird and programs to assist with our home gardens.
