The SunBird Garden Club’s 16th year of sponsoring the annual House and Garden Tour will take place on Sunday, March 10, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and will be available for sale at the HOA office in mid-February. A variety of home models have been selected, some of which have had unique upgrades during the past year. Funds generated will be used to provide continued maintenance of our numerous gardens throughout both the HOA and Golf Club properties.
A bit of history: Our Club was established in 2001. In the 17 years since its conception, numerous projects have been completed for the beautification of SunBird Golf Resort. Our first project was purchasing large boulders, and by using a large crane, placing them on the median south of Championship Drive entrance. Cacti and succulents were added for a lovely effect. From the first project, we continued on with 12 major HOA beautification projects. We have also completed nine major projects on the golf course property, the first being the educational garden by hole #9 adjacent to the clubhouse. Smaller projects are always ongoing. It has been a great journey, and we have loved every minute of beautifying our community.
Our February meeting will be held on Friday, February 8, at 9:00 a.m. We will enjoy our annual Valentine Tea. New members or visitors are always welcome. We meet the second Friday of each month in the East Ballroom through April.
