The 2017 Bocce Ball Marathon is complete. The competition was amazing with SunBird residents showing skills they didn’t even know they possessed. From the first week of January through mid-March, 62 SunBird residents participated in 735 games of bocce. The Marathon participants were divided into three leagues, and each competing team played each team on their league roster. Competition ended March 19. The play-off event was held on March 26, and the results of the play-off event and naming of the reigning bocce ball team of SunBird will be announced in the May SunBird News.
The 2018 Bocce Ball Marathon is now being planned. This year’s competition showed some areas for improvement and ways to have more fun. A Rules Committee has been established, and a full set of rules for the courts at SunBird will be in place.
