ACC Committee Is Still Working

Bonnie Marcus

With the clubhouse closed, it has been just a little lonely around here, as I’m sure it is for you. You are missed, and I hope you are all safe and healthy.

We are still working in the office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and your Architectural Control Committee (ACC) is also working. You can still get a permit for anything you are doing outside. There are two ways to get a blank ACC Permit Application.

1. You can pick one up from the post office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. They are on the counter near the window.

2. You may go to our website at sunbirdhoa.com and click on the Document tab and scroll down to forms. It is there. You can download the form and print it.

Once you have the form, please complete and indicate on the form who is doing the work and their phone number. Please attach all the necessary paperwork like colors, dimensions, drawings, and/or contracts. Also attach any pictures or brochures of the project. If in doubt, please don’t hesitate to call me at the office during business hours. Include $5 cash or check and put it in an envelope.

Please drop it in the HOA black mailbox which is located in the post office parking lot, or you can mail it to me at the office.

Once I receive it, I will review it and, when approved, have Patrol deliver it to you.

On another subject, the ACC Committee is still going around to check on completed work. They will call you first and let you know they are coming. You do not need to have contact with them.

This leads me to WEEDS. Boy, have they been bad this year, but it looks like we are finally starting to make headway with them. Our landscape crew has been pulled from trimming the bushes, and they have been out on the property at least three times in the last few weeks just spraying the entire community’s common areas and streets for weeds. They will be back soon to trimming, so please be patient. I have noticed that with everyone staying home, that you also are working in your yards. It is a good time to stay on top of this. The weed witch is still out in the community, and weed letters are still going out.

This article was written three weeks ago, and no one knows where we will be in May with all of this craziness. Stay safe and healthy, and we will see you soon.
