Death has a way of sneaking up on us. We all know it is inevitable – and even when the warning signs are everywhere, the suddenness – and the finality of it – are hard to cope with. Grief puts us on a rollercoaster at a time we might prefer to pull down the shades and retreat. The finality of it can be overwhelming!
I was talking with one person who said she thought she and her husband had it all lined up. All of the details were carefully in place. But the overwhelming grief and the realization he was forever gone from her life – well, she said she was a mess!
Some of what we must all deal with – before and after – includes – will we need Hospice care, do we have medical power of attorney, should we have a trust, a will and what about cremation and other memorial issues? Then, there are all of the people you need to notify.
On Saturday, January 26, 2019, Sun Lakes Community Church has invited a group of individuals who concern themselves with these issues every day. They are as follows:
Attorney – Scott Swinson, Specialist in Estate Planning; Pastor – Jerry McGhee, Grief is inevitable; Accountant – Chip Shank, CPA, – Business and Personal Financial Services; Hospice Representative – Heather Chapple, Hospice of the Valley; and Mortuary Manager – Brent Bouche, Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery.
Pastor Jerry McGhee said, “We are really pleased to have such a great line-up of speakers for this event. Everyone here in Sun Lakes needs the information that will be provided. Think of this event as a gift from our church to all of you who enjoy this wonderful community.”
The event is free. It will take place Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sun Lakes Country Club, Navajo Room, 25601 N. Sun Lakes Blvd. N.
