Unity Church of Sun Lakes is a New Thought Community. We celebrate Peace, Love, Light, Joy, and Healing. Our practice is affirmative prayer and positive thinking, and we support each other in living a Spirit-centered life. Our Sunday service is at 10 a.m. in the Arts & Crafts Room of the Sun Lakes 1 Country Club. Rev. Jeanne MacLaughlin delivers the message, which is shown on YouTube later that afternoon, as well as live. We welcome you.
It is Lent and the beginning of the 40 days starting on Ash Wednesday and continuing on through the crucifixion, the entombment, and, finally, the Resurrection of Jesus 40 days later. Unity World headquarters has published this wonderful booklet, 40 Days of Letting Go, to help us examine our own lives and the false beliefs we have been holding onto. Each day starts with “I Let Go,” and a Unity minister gives a lesson, a Bible quote, and an affirmation that is healing and positive. The work that Jesus demonstrated begins in our own mind. By crossing out limiting beliefs about who and what we are and what we can achieve, we accept the Truth that we are all made in the image and likeness of God. It is up to us to live and bring forth the Divine qualities of life, love, wisdom, power, and substance for the benefit of All. The Resurrection is a metaphor for Transformation. We have the power every day to transform our life experiences, rise above our past, and turn problems into opportunities.
