The Sun Lakes Ladies Community Chit and Chat Breakfast Group is in the process of planning a community event to lift everyone’s spirits this holiday season. It will be called “The Wonderland of Lights.” The festivities will begin with a tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Sun Lakes Medical Center located at 10440 East Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. These brilliantly-adorned trees will be on display through Dec. 18, 2020, for all to enjoy.
We need your help to bring a glorious glow, along with joy and laughter into Sun Lakes, especially this holiday season. Businesses, organizations, groups, and individuals may participate by donating “fully-decorated” artificial trees from two feet to six feet high. Although donors may be creative with the lights and decorations they choose, we do request clear, battery-operated lights with timers. Smaller decorated trees in stands that can be used on tables or in doorways is another option, providing they have clear, battery-operated lights. In addition to bringing beauty into our world, your donation will be a form of advertisement for your business. All trees will be identified by a small sign provided by each donor. Of course, monetary donations will be accepted to sponsor a tree.
An auction will be conducted by Caring Transitions at CTBIDS.com whose database of approximately 8,000 will give your business additional free advertising and exposure. Bidding will begin on Dec. 1, and conclude on Dec. 15. Each tree sold at auction will be identified by the name of your business, organization, or group. A singular donor will have the option of using their name or remaining anonymous. A donation will be made to The Perfect Place, located at 23914 South Alma School Road, Chandler, AZ 85248. The Perfect Place is a 501(c)(3) non-profit adult day care, where many of the participants have some degree of dementia. Here, they can socialize and engage in recreational activities in a structured, safe environment, while giving the caretakers a much-needed break.
Tree placement in the lobby will be on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, it is important to make your appointment for a set-up time early during the week of Nov. 9 to 13 with Rose Pachura. All trees must be delivered to the Sun Lakes Medical Center on Monday, Nov. 16, by appointment only. It is the donor’s responsibility to set up their tree for display.
Everyone is required to wear a mask in the lobby.
Let us make our community merry and bright this holiday season with “The Wonderland of Lights.”
