Sincere Thank You! to Our SunBird Friends/Neighbors
Sharon Erickson
To everyone who prayed for Don and me during his short-term illness and/or sent loving condolence cards, plants/flowers, and meals, a sincere Thank You! from our Erickson family.
I don’t know what our family and I would have done had it not been for our SunBird Community Church, SunBird Lion’s Club, and Kare Bears, in offering their services.
During our working careers, Don and I seemed never to have time to know our neighbors. After our move here in 2009, we didn’t realize what this next stepping stone would bring. Don was so liked by so many.
What a supportive community we have right here in SunBird.
Thank You to My Neighbors in SunBird

After the passing of my husband, Lenny, I’ve been dealing with a whole kaleidoscope of feelings. After almost 40 years of marriage, it’s hard to accept that he won’t be walking through that door anymore. His passing was so sudden and completely unexpected. Your comforting phone calls, texts, and cards have been a great help to me. Thank you so much for offering your warmth, concern, and affection, during this time of grieving. This whole process has been so exhausting and emotionally draining. I am trying my best to muster the strength to live my “new reality” without him and begin healing. Thank you also for the food brought to me by my incredibly caring neighbors, when cooking was the last thing on my mind. I appreciate everything you all have done for me. Eight years ago when I retired, we eagerly looked forward to coming to SunBird and enjoying our “snowbird” existence. And we did. As time passed, Lenny would remind me that this is where he wanted me to be when he was “gone.” He knew I would be surrounded by new friends and activities, and that brought him peace of mind. He was right, as usual.
God bless you all.
