We had a great end of season party at the courts on March 27—more than 50 people for the picnic at the tables next to the courts, and more than 40 people playing in the Round Robin. Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the day and to our volunteers who helped make this a great day (Marianna Buescher, Dan Buescher, Mike Ohlmann, Glen Klein, Mary Beth DeMatteo, Lisa Dingeldein, Marsharne Graves, and Lisa (scorekeeper)) and all of the clean-up crew. You guys rock! And thanks to Julie’s crew at the Horizon Room—our ham/turkey/lettuce/tomato wraps were great! Winners from the Round Robin were Ed Hennek, Jim Anderson, and Joe Dingeldein. Congrats, guys! Okay, ladies, we need to step up here! Seriously, I think everyone had fun and enjoyed the beautiful weather and socializing with friends.
Want to learn how to play? Sign up in the glass case across from the post office, and someone will contact you to have a lesson. You may also contact Dan and Marianna at 480-285-4501. Pickleball hours are also in the glass case, as well as the kiosk in the clubhouse copy room.
May hours for pickleball will begin a little earlier—it’s getting hot again, so we are planning to play on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7 to 10 a.m. (or until it’s too hot to be out there). We are also planning to play every other Saturday evening at 7 p.m. We will use the SignUpGenius again this summer to let everyone know if there will be enough players for a game. Please contact Marianna Buescher at [email protected] or Suzanne Lipke at [email protected] if you’d like to be included in the SignUpGenius. And as a reminder, anyone can organize a game at other than club play times. We have beautiful courts, a ball machine, and lots of people who want to play. Let’s go play one more game!
