SunBird Lions Remember 9/11
You and your friends and neighbors are invited to join the SunBird Lions on Sept. 11 for a time of Remembrance and Service. We will gather in the SunBird ballroom at 8:30 a.m. and begin our time together with song and a prayer for our nation. Our keynote speaker will be Chandler council member Matt Orlando. The program will also include a video presentation of 9/11 from September of 2020 which we were not able to share due to COVID. We hope that you will join your SunBird Lions for this event.
The Lions will be collecting canned and dry grocery items to be donated to AZCEND Food Pantry as an act of service.

SunBird Lions Club Garage Sale
Arlene Block
We are looking for donations for our garage sale, which will be held in November. If you are wanting to share some of the treasures you no longer use or need, SunBird Lions would be happy to pick them up, or you can deliver them to Lions Jana and Randy Haeffner. Please call them at 815-761-7243.
We will also be collecting hearing aids, eyeglasses, cell phones, medical equipment, and nonperishable food products for the food pantry.
With your help, we can continue to sponsor the Lions Club projects and help individuals in need.

Welcome back! We hope, as you return or have been here enjoying our summer, that you will begin Nov. 1 with a night of Bingo. SunBird Lions Club Bingo will be held on the first and third Friday of each month, November of 2024 through April of 2025.
Doors will open in the SunBird Golf Resort ballroom at 5:30 p.m., packets will be sold at 6 p.m., and games will begin at 6:30 p.m.
There will be new games. You can even double your money on some games.
Snacks, coffee, and water will be available for a nominal fee.
Please tell your family, friends, and neighbors to come and support the SunBird Lions Club.
Bingo is open to the public. You must be 18 years or older to play.
Attention, Attention: Oktoberfest
The Lions Club and the SunBird German Club are collaborating to hold an Oktoberfest on Tuesday, Oct. 15, on the patio. There will be brats and German potato salad. A band will play German tunes for our listening and dancing pleasure. A bar with beer will also be available. Bring your best friend or come alone, but come and enjoy. Find out the origin of the famous Munich Oktoberfest! Learn the meaning of Gemütlichkeit.
Tickets will go on sale at the end of September in the clubhouse main hallway. Look for flyers with ticket prices and other information to be posted in the clubhouse later in September.
So, mark your calendars for the SunBird Oktoberfest on Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. on the patio. Get out your lederhosen, Alpine hat, and dirndl dress. Lift your beer mug and sing “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!” Lebewohl!
If you have any questions, call Frank Nechvatal at 480-980-4392 or Chuck Heitbrink at 515-238-1824.
