Lions Karen Lee and Arlene Block delivered pet beds, crates, cushions, and blankets to the Arizona Humane Society to help pets in need. Items were collected by Lion Michael Block.
Lions collect unopened pet food, treats, leashes, collars, pet beds, crates, blankets, towels, and flat sheets for the shelter. Please call Lion Michael Block at 480-238-4701 for pick-up of items or for info on where to drop off items.
Lion Joan Garmeson Received the Melvin Jones Award

Lion Joan Garmeson received the Melvin Jones Award for her outstanding dedication to the SunBird Lions Club. Joan sets up poster displays that she prepares for conventions, Community Day, and anything else. She prepares all the things needed for conventions to be sure they run smoothly and sets up everything before all the events, from flyers, booklets, to setting tables.
Lion Joan has earned her award with the thanks from all SunBird Lions.
Lions Club Bingo – April Results

We are so thankful to everyone who was there to enjoy a fun evening at the Lions Club Bingo on April 18.
SunBird Lions Club Bingo is held on the first and third Friday of each month from November through April in the SunBird ballroom. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and games begin at 6:30 p.m. Bingo is open to the public!
Our caller is Vern Green who also will tell you when you can double your winnings. Snacks and beverages are available for a nominal fee.
Come support the SunBird Lions Bingo! We hope to see everyone back on Nov. 7!
SunBird Lions Members Attend Camp Tatiyee Work Weekend

SunBird Lions Fred Garmeson and Jana Haeffner participated in the clean-up and maintenance of Camp Tatiyee before the arrival of the campers. They worked on cleaning up the cabins and recreational areas.
Since its inception in 1958, the camp has been a sanctuary for individuals with special needs. This camp provides them with various experiences and is a beacon of hope and unity, which is made possible through the unwavering dedication and support of the Lions Clubs of Arizona.
There is never a fee for those who attend, as it is a nonprofit that operates on donations from various Lions Clubs and generous contributors such as corporate sponsors, individuals, and businesses.
We are grateful to everyone who supported our fundraisers during the year. This has made it possible for the SunBird Lions to contribute and help these special people enjoy camp.

SunBird Lions is open to all people who are interested in the needs of others. We serve those who are less fortunate by helping with the food pantry, helping those with eye or hearing deficiency, childhood cancer, diabetes, cell phone program, the HOA with the gate opener for emergency vehicles and automatic doors, the SunBird Garden Club, and so much more.
We are so grateful for all of the generous people who make it possible.
Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Room in SunBird Golf Resort.

SunBird Lions Club Receives Donation of Home Contents

We are so grateful and appreciative to the Caron family who moved from SunBird Golf Resort and donated the contents of their home to the SunBird Lions Club.
Archeology Estate Sales helped with the sale. The contents of bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, living room, outdoor patio, holiday items, clothing, garage items, and tools were available.
We are so thankful for this thoughtful donation to SunBird Lions and those in need.

SunBird Lions Club Lion Jan Engdahl and her assistants will “Flock” for all occasions by decorating a yard with adorable flamingos and a sign for any occasion. It can be so much fun for you, your neighbors, and passersby who always have a smile.

A donation of $25, which supports the Lions Club, is a great way to help and have fun. If you want the flamingos up longer than 24 hours, you can have that for a small additional fee.
