Happy New Year! May this year bring you more distance, straighter drives and putts that make it to the hole in one stroke.
Please note: The ladies net shoot out has been rescheduled to January 13.
Also a friendly reminder: Please be sure to sign up for golf by Saturday evening as our signup sheet comes down on Sunday morning. Thank you in advance to everyone!
We have been a busy group of ladies. The luncheon with the Niners was a huge success as well as the game. Everyone played from the yellow tees and I am told it was a fun filled day!
Birdies seem to be a theme for several of you ladies. Janet Farrell ended up with a birdie on Hole 5 after her tee shot fell short with less than an inch to roll into the hole. I took a photo but it was not good enough to print so you will all have to imagine the look on her face! It truly was almost a hole in one! Way to go, Janet – hopefully the New Year will bring you your hole in one.
Speaking of birdies – who shoots first at the next hole when everyone in your group birdies the hole before? That was the dilemma for several of us after our entire team birdied Hole 17. The decision was easy, the first birdie in was the first to tee off; I know it’s not that complicated, but it was fun to talk about and ponder over at the time. Trish Carrel, Pat Arnold and I were the lucky ones that time; however, it was Trish who almost had the hole in one. Another close one! Maybe next time, Trish.
Be sure to send me a note with or without a photo if you have fun stories that you would like to share. We would all enjoy hearing them.
We started December by celebrating Christmas at our ladies luncheon (festive accessories and all) and then, of course, the big dinner party with the Tennis Club. A special thank you to Joyce Gerber, the Tennis Club and everyone involved with the dinner/dance – it was a beautiful and fun evening.
