Faith and Begorrah! The Irish Club has really grown this season. We now are proud to announce that there are 100 members. This is an all-time record. I had a list of the newest members, but I was so excited, that I have misplaced it. Sorry! Anyway, a warm welcome to all of our new members.
Our December meeting was held on Thursday, December 1. President Walt opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag, followed by the introduction of the new members. Tickets were sold for the February Laughlin trip, and in only one day, we have only five seats on the bus that are still for sale.
Members brought unwrapped gifts for the students at Hartford School and a representative of the school gratefully accepted the gifts and assured us how happy the gifts will make the children.
Our monthly 50/50 drawing was won by Joan Cornwall. This lucky Irishman, er, woman, won $81. The dollar game was won by Cheryl Wallace, who was doubly lucky. This is the second month in a row that she has won the dollar game. Cheryl took $46 home. Nice going, Cheryl.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the Horizon Room. We wish everyone a happy and healthy 2017! Happy New Year!
