SunBird Niners

All of us Niners were so happy to get back to a normal schedule after COVID-19. We celebrated by having a wonderful time competing in our annual tournament on Feb. 22 after having to skip it last year. Tom Adam, Trent Johnson, and Ron Morgan greeted the Sun Lakes Niners and ushered their golf bags onto the appropriate golf carts and directed them to the Horizon Room. We hooked up with our designated Sun Lakes Niners in the Horizon Room for coffee and an assortment of breakfast rolls. Everyone received a “goodie bag” with water, energy bars, and chocolate bars, as well as a raffle ticket for some very nice gifts. Our golf tournament was a scramble with two holes marked for a “closest-to-hole” competition. After the tournament, we returned to the Horizon Room for our luncheon prepared by Joe Turley and his staff. It takes a lot of organization to orchestrate this event every year, and Bev Launer did an awesome job, along with a lot of support from a few of her fellow Niners, as well as Irene Anderson of Sun Lakes. The tournament results are shown below:
