December – for many parts of the country it means freezing temperatures, ice and snow, early darkness and difficult driving.

December 31 will mark a closing of the book of time for 2016, a year of tragedy, slaughter and chaos in too many parts of our universe.

For Christians, despite the commercial use of Christmas music which began months ago, December is a magical time where our world seems a bit softer and kinder for a while as we anticipate the birth of Christ, an event that changed history forever. A time for friends, family, food and festivities but also worship that praises our Lord for the ultimate gift. All this among and in spite of attempts to keep Christ out of Christmas and change “Merry Christmas” to the benign “Happy Holidays.”

In Luke Two, shepherds were in the fields when “An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.” But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”

Ministers for December:

SunBird Community Church will again be extending an invitation to friends and families for Christmas Eve service beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the SunBird Ballroom. In the past there has been a wonderful response from our SunBird community with overwhelming attendance. David Wright will deliver the message, the church choir and other soloists will sing and the decorations will be beautiful

SunBird Community Church is non-denominational and based on the Bible. Our members invite you to visit us any Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the SunBird Ballroom. There you will meet our friendly congregation and hear an uplifting message by an experienced minister. Should we save a place? Our Lord anxiously awaits your arrival.
