If there are poor among you in one of the towns of the lands the Lord your God is giving you, do not be selfish or greedy toward them. But give freely to them and freely lend them whatever they need. Deuteronomy 15:7-8
A brother in Christ might need clothes or food. If you say to that person, “God be with you! I hope you stay warm and get plenty to eat,” but you do not give what that person needs, your words are worth nothing. James 1:27
We residents of SunBird know full well what it means to give and receive help. In our newspaper we read notes that thank our residents for help in times of sickness and death. These acts of support are done with no remuneration in mind. And how many more people assist others that we never hear about? God challenges us to help people in need. A special reward in Heaven most certainly awaits those who do.
Did you know the SunBird Church monetarily supports various charities? Among them are Global Training Network, Sunshine Acres, Hospice of the Valley, St. Mary’s Food Bank and St. Matthews Crossing.
