Does it appear our world is upside down compared to the old days? Have greed, corruption and fraud in business, government, and yes, churches, and nearly all our institutions replaced integrity, accountability, responsibility, honesty and common sense? Is all that was once right now wrong? Has God turned his back on our country as some think? Has the world swallowed us up as the whale once did to Jonah? Just how are we to cope?
In the Bible we are told to be a shining light unto the world – to live by example that others may follow Our Lord has called us to trust and obey. He has said He will never forsake us. Our Father is in charge and will reward the steadfast and punish those who have turned their backs on Him and ignored all that is right and good.
“….the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” Isaiah 52:10
March was indeed a memorable month with a beautiful Easter service with Rev. Jim Baugh, the choir and a large assembly honoring our risen Savior.
SunBird Community Church also hosted its annual free barbeque for our residents. As usual good food, willing workers and a hungry crowd marked the day.
In addition, several people were baptized by ministers Jim Baugh and David Walker in the small pool on February 28. What better way of proclaiming our desire to walk with our Lord.
SunBird Community Church is fortunate to have a group of seasoned ministers to present a message each Sunday. Here is the list for April:
April 3 – Ryan Stephens
April 10 – Jim Baugh
April 17 – David Walker
April 24 – Marv Jacobs
The yearly collection of clothes for the Latin American Church of the Nazarene was completed by March 1. It is a church ministry that aids many in need.
Do not forget Wednesday evening Bible Study led by Hank Miller at 6:30 p.m. in the SunBird Clubhouse.
If you would like to be a part of our choir, join us at practice Thursday afternoon from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the SunBird Ballroom.
SunBird Community Church is non-denominational and based on the Bible. Our members invite you to visit us any Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the SunBird Ballroom. There you will meet our friendly congregation and hear an uplifting message by an experienced minister. Should we save a place?
