Bob Hoffman displayed his new hand-built golf cart, modeled after his ‘49 Ford Woody, at SunBird’s Car Show on March 1. He designed it, then built the front hood using wood and fiberglass and carpentered the polished wood box. He painted it sea green, the color of his original station wagon. He began building it in 2021 and adapted an E-Z-GO golf cart.

Bob and his wife, Alice Koker, are from Oregon and have two children. They owned a car-restoring business there. Bob’s vehicle competed with unique cars, which filled the SunBird parking lot on March 1.

The many admirers voted on their favorite car, with Ken Bergman’s turquoise ‘57 Chevrolet winning first place and a $35 gift certificate.

This annual car show is coordinated by Doug Davis who encourages SunBird car owners to bring their car next year. Doug can be reached at 480-895-7613.
