As summer comes to Arizona and our snowbirds return to their residences, activities slow down. But Sunbird continues to provide a wide variety of ways to “beat the heat,” and SunBird Art Club members enjoy a variety of options during this time. We continue to utilize the Hopi Room on Fridays, enjoying shared times with each other as we bring projects to work on in a relaxed and cool environment. We also stay tuned to events around the Valley and treat ourselves to excursions to art shows, exhibits, and the possibility of perhaps doing some painting in outdoor areas in cooler locations.
Our club has been given a wide variety of art supplies, canvases, tablets of drawing paper, and beautiful books and art magazines, which is a great way to try your hand at doing some art without having to buy an array of items and supplies.
We welcome you to stop in and visit with members who can answer questions and maybe help set you up to see if this is something you would enjoy doing. If you should stop by and no one is there at that time, please continue to come again. Like most of SunBird in the summer, we stay flexible and might be out on a field trip or enjoying a leisurely lunch together. But know we welcome the chance to visit with you and share our love of a relaxed atmosphere and the enjoyment that creating art brings.
Happy Summer to all!
