Our year opened with the club moving to the Horizon Room at 6:00 p.m. This will be the time and place for club meetings this season. Again our meetings will be the second Tuesday of each month (October through April) at 600 p.m. in the Horizon Room. Liz Pendry and Jo Zielke will be making the phone calls to remind members of each month’s meeting.
The annual Christmas Party was discussed with the choices Floridino’s, the Spaghetti Warehouse and the Horizon Room. A decision will be made at the November meeting and a menu will also be selected. Be sure to attend the November meeting to get the lowdown!
President Bob Sciaretta announced that we would have a table at the Community Day on November 12. Helpers to man the table are always welcome. Lastly, our club will be delivering the monthly SunBird newspaper for the months of November through April. This operation will earn the club an extra $968.70. Don McMullen is in charge and he still needs some volunteers for two to three routes. Please let him know if you are interested in helping the club earn some extra cash.
Remember that dues are $5 per person and are due at the first meeting you attend. This year the club will also be collecting canned goods or non-perishable food stuff for the St. Mary’s Food Bank., Please bring canned goods, etc. to the monthly meetings. We will collect them and pass them along to the food bank.
