Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse First Responders Open House a Success!

Bill Shedd

The First Responders Open House at the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse office on Jan. 24 was well attended by the Sun Lakes community. The MCSO staff, Sun Lakes Posse, Arizona Fire & Medical, American Red Cross, and the Arizona Heroes Home Team want to thank everyone who came by to visit and see firsthand how these organizations provide services to our community.

The Open House featured units of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office, including the Lake Patrol, Bomb Squad Command Van, Incident Command Center Van, Fox One (helicopter), SWAT Team, K-9 Unit, Mounted Unit, and MASH Unit, to mention a few. The MASH Unit provides care, feeding, and sheltering of animals who have suffered abuse and neglect. Arizona Fire & Medical was there with their fire truck and ambulance.

It seemed that everyone enjoyed the free hot dogs, as we served more than 300 of them. It was great to be able to connect with the community we serve at this first event of 2026. Be on the lookout for more events to be scheduled throughout the year!
