Sun Lakes Chorale—We’re Coming Back

Yvonne Orlich, Sun Lakes Chorale

The Chorale is starting to prepare for its return in September for rehearsals for the Dec. 8 Holiday Concert. The summer break is always too long for those of us who sing in the Chorale, so we are anxiously awaiting our first rehearsal on Monday, Sept. 12.

Rehearsals will be at 1 p.m. in Lindsay Hall at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, while the interior of the church facilities undergoes some renovations and repairs. We meet every Monday afternoon from 1 to 3:30 p.m. or later, if necessary. New members are welcome! All new members must show proof (original or copy) of COVID-19 vaccinations in order to participate. If you are interested in joining, please come on the 9th and sit in before committing. If you are sure this is for you, you will meet with our director, Cris Evans, who will make the determination as to which section will be best served by your voice. You can then pay your dues and collect your music.

We are a fun-loving group who thoroughly enjoys learning new music, revisiting older music, and being together to sing. We hope to have some new members join our ranks this year. Come join the fun.

Here are some dates to remember. The Chorale will have a table at each Open House.

Open Houses (featuring many groups and organizations in Sun Lakes):

Saturday, Oct. 1, Sun Lakes Country Club, 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Saturday, Oct. 8, Cottonwood, 9 a.m. to noon

Saturday, Oct. 29, Oakwood, 9 a.m. to noon

Holiday Concert: Thursday, Dec. 8, Sun Lakes United Methodist Church. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
