St. Steven’s St. Vincent de Paul Conference Update

Sheryll Prokop

The St. Steven’s St. Vincent de Paul Conference serves neighbors in need within the parish boundaries of Price Road, Hunt Highway, Arizona Avenue, and Ocotillo Road. Our conference focuses on providing material relief, as well as financial and spiritual support, to the poor and vulnerable. In addition to emergency services, we work to provide supportive services leading to systemic change for our neighbors in need.

Our Helpline is actively monitored, responding to voice messages and emails received within 24 hours.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul serves those in need, regardless of creed, ethnic, or social background; health; gender; or political opinions.

St. Steven’s Conference Vincentians volunteer as kitchen crew at our main campus in Phoenix and the Mesa dining room. We have supplied St. Peter’s Mission with school supplies and contributed funds to the St. Vincent de Paul water truck to provide bottled water to the homeless encampments within Maricopa County. This fall we will support our main campus with food, winter clothing, and Adopt-A-Family programs. Since we have been active at St. Steven’s Roman Catholic Church, we have helped several neighbors in need to stay in their home within our boundaries and, outside our boundaries, assisted other parishes in Maricopa County.

St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Mesa accepts donations of clothing, furniture, home décor, kitchenware, and many other reusable household items. The store is located at 2352 W. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85201. They are open Tuesday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. They can be reached by phone at 480-644-0887. Donors may also call 602-254-3338 for furniture pick-up.
