¡Hola! ¿Que pasa? If you have ever considered learning a new language but thought you were “too old” to tackle such an endeavor, think again. Researchers have discovered that learning a new language at any age can have major brain benefits.
I know that you have all been waiting for the Spanish class to start. Well, it’s almost here. Want to have more fun when you go shopping in Nogales? Wouldn’t it be fun to be able to chat with the server while eating in a Mexican restaurant? Or be able to say “¡Oh, es muy caro!”
(Oh, it’s very expensive!) Then join the conversational Spanish class being offered at SunBird. As a student said, “It’s painless.” Besides, no tests, no grades, just fun!
The Beginning class will be on Wednesday afternoons from noon to 2 p.m. It starts on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Navajo Room. We waited for you snowbirds. A textbook is required. The fee for each six-week session is $40. We always enjoy a Spanish class outing, lunch, or whatever. We get together and go out for a Mexican meal, or Chinese if they prefer! Just kidding! We laugh a lot and have a great time. It’s cheaper than therapy!
A sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board across from the Puzzle Room. The class is open to anyone, not just SunBird residents—bring a friend.
