Trivia Night with Sherlock Holmes
Thursday, Dec. 5 and 19, Horizon Room, 6 p.m.
Join us on Thursday, Dec. 5 and 19, at 6 p.m. in the Horizon Room. There is a maximum of eight players per team. Your team table can be reserved either by the week or month at the HOA office. Appetizers will be available to order from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tempe Festival of the Arts Bus Trip
Friday, Dec. 6, bus will depart SunBird at 11 a.m.
The Tempe Festival of the Arts is a well-loved community event that showcases over 350 artists. This urban fine art festival features visual artists from around the country as well as live music, street performers, beer and wine gardens, and food trucks. Tickets are currently available at the HOA office for $17 per person – Includes bus transportation (does not include driver gratuity).
Karaoke and DJ Night with DJ Mikey Mike
Friday, Dec. 6 and 20, Horizon Room, 6 to 9 p.m.
Join DJ Mikey Mike for a night of karaoke and dancing to your favorite songs. Karaoke from 6 to 7:30 p.m., DJ from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Bring your singing voices and your dancing moves and join us for a night of fun! Purchase your favorite drinks from the bar. Everyone is welcome!
Bingo
Friday, Dec. 6 and 20, Ballroom, 6 p.m.
If you are someone who would like to meet others from the community or just have a fun time playing Bingo, you might want to check into the Chandler SunBird Lions Club Bingo Nights on the first and third Fridays of each month. Bingo nights are played in the ballroom at the SunBird clubhouse. Cards start being sold at 6 p.m. promptly, and the games begin at 6:30 p.m. You can come early to secure your seats. Come join us in the fun. All new games and chances to double the prize money! The money raised goes to the SunBird Lions Club for the local charities.

Memories of Christmas Past – SunBird Singers Concerts
Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 11 and 12, 7 p.m., Ballroom
Please join us as the 50-member SunBird Singers present their annual Christmas concert on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. in the SunBird Ballroom. The opening number will be a wonderful rendition of “Joy to the World” with bells and piano, and throughout the evening, they will be sharing pictures and stories of “Memories of Christmas Past.” The concerts are free; however, donations will be graciously accepted. All proceeds of the concerts are used to purchase music and supplies and are greatly appreciated!

Christmas Dinner and Dance
Saturday, Dec. 14, Ballroom, 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Ho, ho, ho… join us on Dec. 14 for a Christmas Dinner and Dance hosted by the SunBird Golf and Tennis Clubs. This event is open to the entire SunBird community. Santa’s elves will escort you to your table where a sit-down dinner of glazed pork (alternative) will be served. Following dinner, Still Cruising will have you dancing the night away. Special appearance by Santa (who has his list) and his elves. Chances to win door prizes. Be sure to bring your cameras! Westgate and Glendale Glitters Bus Trip
Monday, Dec. 16, bus will depart SunBird at 3 p.m.
Shop at the unique selection of specialty stores or tease your taste buds at an assortment of casual-themed restaurants. With 29 restaurants to choose from, there truly is something for everyone! We’ll spend approx. 1.5 hours at Westgate before boarding the bus to Downtown Glendale where you will have approx. 2+ hours to enjoy Glendale Glitters; an award-winning holiday lighting event. Glendale Glitters’ display of 1.6 million LED lights will illuminate 16 blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale, making it the largest free holiday light display in Arizona. Tickets are currently available at the HOA office for $17 per person – includes bus transportation (does not include driver gratuity).

FREE Christmas Dance

The Roadrunner Golf and Social Club is sponsoring and inviting SunBird residents to their FREE Christmas Dance on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Music will be provided by the fun and entertaining DJ Charlie Parker. Please join the Roadrunners for a great holiday party and dance. Please remember to bring your SunBird ID. Full cash bar, pre-packaged snacks only.
Fourth Annual Holiday Light Competition and Golf Cart Parade
Sunday, Dec. 22, Patio, 5 p.m.
Get into the Holiday spirit and light up SunBird by decorating your homes and golf carts! The Holiday Light Committee will be nominating numerous homes throughout the community (previous first-place winners are exempt from the competition). The Golf Cart Parade through SunBird will begin lining up on Waterview at 5 p.m. and depart at approx. 5:30 p.m. Voting will take place AFTER the parade on the patio.
Community Church of SunBird – Christmas Eve Service
Tuesday, Dec. 24, 6 p.m., doors open at 5:15 p.m.
We invite all of you to join us for our Christmas Eve celebration. Our very own Celebration Singers, Celebration Ringers, featured soloists, and harpist Susan Popelka will bring us into Heavenly Worship. Hank Miller will deliver a short message entitled, “No room, no room at the Inn.” The doors to our ballroom open at 5:15 p.m., and the Service will begin at 6 p.m.

Cheers to the New Year. We’re having a party! Join us in the Horizon Room for a fun-filled evening featuring a live performance by Kenny G. Raffle prizes throughout the evening!
