With the start of fall and the promise of cooler temperatures, it is time to start thinking about the start of the Men’s Golf Club 2016–2017 winter season. President Jim Bickett will call the first meeting of the new season to order on Tuesday, November 1 at 9:00 a.m. in the clubhouse Ballroom. The executive committee will convene on the same day at 8:00 a.m. in the Lakeside Room. Regular business meetings will continue through April on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m., again in the Ballroom. All current members are encouraged to attend if in town and newcomers who have an interest in joining or would like to learn more about the association are also encouraged to attend.
The Sunbird Men’s Golf Association is open to all golfers, regardless of skill level, who would like to participate in regularly scheduled tournaments held each Thursday morning. Tournaments include stroke play, scrambles and other games at the discretion of the tournament committee. While weekly participation in the tournaments is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Players may sign up and play when they can. Participation is a great way to play competitive golf at your level and to meet other golfers.
