Don Bell of Cottonwood was named Rotarian of the Month of February for the Sun Lakes Rotary Club. During his eight year tenure with the club, Don has worn a number of hats, principally heading up the club’s annual golf tournament and directing delivery of the Splash to the driveways of Sun Lakes’ residents.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Don went to work for Vogt Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing Company of Minneapolis where he worked for 46 years as a mechanical design engineer – ultimately retiring as CEO in 2003.
Don has been a Rotarian 27 years, holding all offices including President (of the St. Louis Park Minnesota Noon Rotary Club).
Don and his wife Georgeann have two daughters and four grandchildren. They moved to Sun Lakes in 2008.
The Rotary Club of Sun Lakes meets for breakfast every Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. in the Oakwood Country Club Ballroom. The meetings start at 7:00 a.m. and end promptly at 8:00 a.m. The cost of breakfast is $12. To make reservations for any meeting, contact Rotarian Don Prestin at 480-802-0439.
