Readying for the Spring Concert

Yvonne Orlich

There is very little time left to get your tickets and makes your plans to attend the Spring Concert presented by the Sun Lakes Chorale. To remind you, the concert will be on Thursday, March 14, at the United Methodist Church on Riggs Road in Sun Lakes. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Tickets ($10) are available at the door.

The line-up of songs for the Spring Concert is varied in mood, tempo and tone. A wide variety of music will be sung, from “Dream,” a composition by our own director Chris Temple-Evans, “River in Judea,” to “Fascinating Rhythm” and 10 or more songs in between. They range from contemplative to toe tapping.

At this writing, we are still rehearsing, and soloists are practicing as well. Final soloist selections will be made soon. We are all working hard to ensure that you enjoy a couple of hours of great entertainment, right in your own backyards! We guarantee you will enjoy every moment, because we enjoy preparing and entertaining you, and we put a lot of time and effort into making it a pleasant experience for everyone.

Paul McCartney once said, “I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that.”

What a wonderful quote and so fitting for the Sun Lakes Chorale. If Paul McCartney loves a choir, you may, too. Come and hear us. You’ll see exactly what Sir Paul means.

We hope to see you on the 14th of March. Welcome spring with us!
