The SunBird Pickleball Club has transitioned to our fall/winter hours for play. A link to our flyer with our club hours has been added to the SunBird HOA website (thank you, Wendy!) under “Lifestyle” and then “Clubs” information. Flyers are available in the clubhouse kiosk and are posted in the pickleball glass case near the courts and post office. All SunBird residents now have easy access to the information. We play in the afternoons from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We play in the mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. We occasionally play on Saturdays. The next will be on Dec. 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. and will be our Christmas gathering. We look forward to seeing everyone there and wish Happy Holidays to all.
We had our first of two club meetings on Nov. 2, presided over by Club President Marianna Buescher. Our next club meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at 2 p.m. on the courts. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend if you missed this first meeting. We reviewed our club guidelines, safety issues, waivers and fees, and court rotation guidelines. More information on ordering club shirts with our logo will be forthcoming soon. Marianna has also reminded everyone of the planned Alzheimer’s Charity Tournament that will be held Feb. 26 and 27, 2022. Please let her know at [email protected] if you’d like to play ($40 per person per event), volunteer for the event, or provide a prize for the raffle that will be held. It’s for a great cause that has affected many of us and our families.
