Patrol report – February 2015

Ray Taylor

Looking back on 2014, I believe it to have been a good year. Traffic seemed, for the most part, to be doing the speed limit. Of course, we will always have the occasional speeder, either on purpose or the daydreaming driver. Some just don’t understand that safe driving is not based on their ability to drive but also how well they can react to the unexpected circumstance at the speed they are driving. Just because the speed limit signs say 25 mph does not necessarily mean that it is safe to drive at that speed. Most residents are driving very carefully. Thanks to you and your visitors/contractors, we have not had a major injury accident. (Not sure if we’re just lucky or you are driving well, probably a combination.)

You’ll find parking around the clubhouse a lot more difficult with so many of our residents back from the snow country. Try to think of others when you are using the clubhouse parking requiring pedestrians and other vehicles.

We have received several calls lately regarding suspicious people and automobiles. All have turned out to be okay as best as patrol can determine after investigating. However, if they may have been trying to get away with an illegal activity, it was prevented and the suspects know their activities were being watched by you, so keep up the good work.

The biggest problem in 2014 has been the gates but we continue to work on getting the trouble resolved. It’s not easy to find the parts that need to be fixed or replaced when the problem is intermittent. Keep in mind that our gates on Riggs Road get a great deal of use. So, please try to be patient as the trouble gets resolved. Keep in mind our motto: we have no place to go and plenty of time to get there.
