Longtime SunBird Golf Resort resident, Bobbie Bamford, peacefully passed away in Olympia, Washington, on August 17, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life was held in Shelton, WA on September 13.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Dunbar, son-in-law, Gene Dunbar and son, Bruce Bamford (Olympia). She is also survived by her brother, Allen Brunstad (Barbara) of Port Angeles and numerous nieces and nephews. Her cat, Mitzi, was her pal!

Her husband, Rob Bamford, passed away March 3, 2000, but she continued to winter in Arizona. Her daughter and son-in-law bought a home in SunBird in 2012 to be close to her and they enjoyed many good times together in the SunBird community.

A memorial will be held in her honor after the 1st of the year.

Thomas R. Callanan

Thomas R. Callanan, age 76, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1938 in Toledo to Jeremiah and Louanna (Ridenour) Callanan. Thomas was a graduate of St. Catherine Grade School and a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. During college, he participated in ROTC and went to serve in the National Guard in Breckinridge, KY. Thomas was a Real Estate Agent for Apple Creek Realty for the past 25 years. Previously he worked for AB Dick Company, West Toledo Stationary Shop, Lunar Office Supply and Newell B. Newton Company.

An outgoing people person, Thomas enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He belonged to the Breakfast Club at McDonald’s on Alexis Rd., and Lunch at Hamways on Monroe St. Thomas was a member of Elks Lodge No. 53. Also, Thomas was a past member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians, having chaired the St. Patrick Day Parade that the order had previously organized. A former parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, he was now a parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Having a sweet tooth, Thomas loved everything chocolate, especially mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann (Maier) Callanan; daughters, Teri (John) Weaver and Mary (Lance) Anthony; grandchildren, Megan and Sean Anthony; and brother, Jerry (Verna) Callanan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends visited Sunday, July 6 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continued with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery.
