Board of Directors had a Business meeting, both on January 28, 2019. The following are notes from this meeting:
Members Present: Tammy Bachofner, Dan Buescher, Shirley Clark, Linda DiPalma, Nancy Eckstein, Gordon Lee, Bob Moren and Layne Varney, General Manager
President Nancy Eckstein called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
Review and Acceptance of December 10, 2018, Agenda & Business Meeting, December 10, 2018, Executive Session, and January 7 Organization and Agenda Planning Minutes. The December 10, 2018, Business Meeting minutes should read Piano Man Concert scheduled in February. Organization and Agenda Planning Minutes should read Bob Moren, not Gordon Lee, is on Rules Committee.
The minutes were approved as corrected.
Treasurer’s Report – Tammy Bachofner
The Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.
Manager’s Report – Layne Varney
2019 telephone directory has been delivered; HOA collections reflect 61 courtesy notices mailed for the first half assessment billing; 21 households are on a payment plan for HOA dues; Auditor will be at annual meeting on March 4, 2019; there were 117 home sales in 2018; there are waiting lists for new homeowner buyers; food and beverage report – largest sales in month of December; annual renewal of liquor license; swimming pool heater replaced; jacuzzi therapy motor replaced; electrical problems in fitness room repaired; acoustical tiles and coat racks in the Apache Room have been installed; ballroom sound and audio system training meeting held; common areas sprayed with pre-emergent weed treatment, phase 1 of irrigation project completed with phase 2 beginning later this year; Kerby Farms gate that was broken in December has been replaced; reports of wildlife in SunBird, golf cart operator lost control of golf cart; lots of activities taking place at SunBird. The managers accepted as presented.
Committee Liaison Reports – Board Members
Board of Director Loyalty Pledge was presented, signed and sealed by each of the Board members. Pledge to be posted in the clubhouse.
2019 Board of Director Election Committee Report by Layne Varney.
Tammy Bachofner and Dan Buescher have been elected as new directors. There was 55% voter turnout. Gordon Lee made a motion to accept Election Committee Report. Vote: 7/0 Passed
Project Review Committee Recommended Sports Complex Ladies Restroom remodel. Shirley Clark made a motion to approve the Project Review Committee recommendation to refurbish the ladies’ and men’s restrooms at the Sports Complex. Vote: Passed 7/0
Status Report on Proposed CC&R Amendments regarding rental property and sexual offenders. 44% response from homeowners as of the date of this meeting. A reminder letter will be mailed to homeowners who have not yet responded. Consent forms must be turned in by March 1, 2019, or submitted at the Annual Meeting on March 4, 2019. The final results will be announced at that meeting.
Each of the Board of Directors submitted ideas for 2019 goals. The some of the similar goals were combined. Board to review the goals for final approval at the February business meeting.
