Norm Noble of Ironwood was named Rotarian of the Month of March for the Sun Lakes Rotary Club. During his 11 year tenure with the club, Norm has served in a number of capacities, once serving as President, twice heading up the club’s annual Golf Tournament, and annually spearheading the club’s promotional activities.
Norm majored in English at Colgate University and did graduate work at the University of Washington. For 44 years, he was in commercial aerospace (electronics) traveling approximately 150,000 miles a year to visit airframe and airline companies of the world. Before he was finished, he visited 82 countries. The last 10 years of his working career, Norm owned The Noble Group, a company that wrote and published custom newsletters for corporations.
Norm has authored five novels and continues to write, but mostly for local outlets relating to Rotary and his church, First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes, where he serves as a Deacon.
Norm and his wife DenisAnn have four daughters, one son, 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. They are rainbirds (not snowbirds), living in both Redmond, Washington, and Sun Lakes since 2003.
The Rotary Club of Sun Lakes meets for breakfast every Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. in the Oakwood Country Club Ballroom. The meetings start at 7:00 a.m. and end promptly at 8:00 a.m. The cost of breakfast is $12. To make reservations for any meeting, contact Rotarian Don Prestin at 480-802-0439.
