John Yu and Stu Frost
September 17 will be our “Open House Season Opener Dance.” Route 66 will be our first band. All of Sun Lakes and surrounding communities are invited. We expect a full house for the Season Opener, so please email or call ahead using the information at our website, www.sunlakes-sundaydanceclub.com. It will help us ensure enough snacks and seating are available. Check-in starts at 6:00 p.m., and the band plays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. So, what’s new about the Sunday Dance Club?
Did you know that besides ballroom, our dance bands play many of today’s popular dances such as West Coast Swings, Country Dances, Cowboy Cha Chas, Line Dances and even some Salsa/Bachata? Bottom line, the band will play what our dancers enjoy.
Our Sunday Dance Club is an “open club,” and membership is not required to come and enjoy a great evening. Membership does have its benefits, but we recognize the changing times, and everyone likes to come and go as they please.
Our dances are held in the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood Country Club. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the band plays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. A cash bar is available.
Want to improve your dancing? Mary Lou Kaye, our club’s resident dance instructor, will help start our season with her special Social Dance Class. This one-hour class is not geared toward a single dance, but helps any novice dancer to dance to a greater variety of dances. Time and location to be determined soon; $5/person.
