Our group is smaller since our snowbirds “flew away.” However, we’re still learning, dancing and having FUN with Full Time Resident Dancers, a.k.a. “Survivors of AZ’s summer, sometimes starting in April!” We do stop more often to drink water. This is very necessary for ALL people to stay hydrated, especially when doing a physical activity, even indoors with AC. We have three levels of dancers through June from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
If you would like to join some of the nicest people I know, you can register now. I’ve advertised our starting date as Labor Day; however, our refinished floor won’t be ready until Monday, September 9, our new “restart” date! You can register now by calling 480-802-0201 after 10:00 a.m. (we have a new message machine). I don’t answer calls for “unknown” numbers and I “block” them. Please leave a message saying you want to join my classes with your name and number, and I will call you back. This has been the only way to get rid of robo and scam calls. It’s one of the best things we have purchased.
You will be registering for Ultra Basics in SunBird for $2 on Mondays, for an hour, or a little more, because we don’t stop in the middle of a dance. You will be learning steps and patterns and dancing easy line dances that I have chosen for this group. The dancers who dance with me really like the dances and music I choose. They appreciate exercising their bodies, but mostly their minds while dancing; I really teach them what they are doing with their feet, discourage “following,” and they actually learn the line dance taught. This allows us to have many line dances to rotate, repeat and always able to dance to our favorites.
Registrations for September 9 will be taken for new dancers until October 15. If you can’t make that deadline, you can put your name on the list for January 6, 2020. It will be the best call you’ve made, and you don’t need a partner to line dance. We do have couples and men in our group. They add a great atmosphere to our floor and like they say, “Real men Line Dance!” There’s a group in California who have shirts with that saying. Join us and escape this “Crazy World.” God Bless Line Dancing!
