Judee Curtis
Thank you to the current dancers in Beyond Basics. We had a good start for the Ultra Basic new dancers and Basic dancers. BB dancers gave up their time on Saturdays until we started our new season of dancing in the SunBird Ballroom on Monday, October 9. Thank you to the new dancers for coming on Saturdays until we could get back to our normal schedule. I appreciate the nice and loyal people who come to me when they are willing to “go with the flow” in order to dance and let other people dance.
All Line Dance classes are in the SunBird Ballroom on Mondays. Ultra Basics for new dancers starts at 11:30 a.m. for $2.00, followed by Basics and Beyond Basics. All dances are taught, reviewed and walked through before dancing. Dancers have input on keeping favorites and/or resting some to allow for new ones. This is probably the hardest part of Line Dancing; so little time and so many good dances and music.
Line Dancing is considered a form of exercise not only for the body, but mostly for the mind. At our age, we need to keep moving and thinking. The loyal dancers who have come to me for years or have joined last year have found Line Dancing a good choice to have fun while “exercising,” plus listening to great music. It’s a great escape from this crazy world!
If you would like to register for Ultra Basics, you need to call Judee Curtis after 10:00 a.m. at 480-802-0201. I’ll be taking new students until October 21. You can register for our restart in January 2018, after October 2017. You don’t need a partner for Line Dancing; however, the couples who dance with me/us are enjoying an activity together. “Real Men Line Dance.” I saw this on t-shirts worn by a group in California. God Bless Line Dancing!
