Then consider joining the Lady 18ers. We invite and welcome all lady golfers of various skills to join our league.
The SunBird Ladies League 18ers will be starting another season on Nov. 7, and we always look forward to our returning members and welcoming new members. We are a great group of ladies who enjoy golfing and meeting new people. We play on Tuesday mornings and play a variety of games, enabling participants to play with different individuals.
All new members are assigned a “buddy” to introduce and help them understand some of our practices.
There are a number of fun events already planned for the 2023-24 season, including a Home & Home Tournament on Feb. 27, hosted by the Springfield Ladies League.
We have a monthly breakfast meeting on the first Tuesday of each month in the Horizon Room before we tee off. At those meetings, we discuss upcoming events, golf rules and etiquette, who got the latest hole-in-one, and issues or concerns raised by members, and we usually have a 50/50 draw to support needs within the SunBird community. Our first breakfast meeting is scheduled for Nov. 7 in the Horizon Room, and we will be having a 50/50 draw to fund the purchase of poinsettias for the SunBird office and Horizon Room for Christmas.
