The R Countryman Chapter of the Korean War/Korea Service Veterans will meet on Tuesday, October 28 in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club at 10:00 a.m. Our guest speaker will be Jen Maffeo-Morrissey.
Jen is a Philanthropic Advisor for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Serving donors living in the Southwest, Jen has the unique opportunity to share St. Jude updates with local, long-time supporters on a personal basis. She has served St. Jude for eight years in a variety of capacities, including event and volunteer management. Jen is delighted to join the local Korean War Veterans group to share information and stories about St. Jude, ranging from the hospital’s founding by late entertainer Danny Thomas to today’s research and patient highlights. She is also a proud Air Force wife and is currently based with her husband and dog in Tucson, AZ.
A special thank you goes out to our June 2014 speaker, Mr. Billy Walker!
All guests are welcome and you can check us out on our website at www.kwvacc.org or contact Commander Doyle Porter at 602-540-7574.
