Chapter Commander Rich Volpe
Our chapter commander would like to continue to extend his thanks and appreciation for all the support you all provided to our organization over the past year, and we’re looking forward to a fresh new start as we enter into the new year. Some major achievements over the past year include teaming up with another local service organization in sharing improved storage provisioning and providing support to those in need in a more efficient manner. This enabled a large number of motorized electric scooters to be delivered to many who had disabilities that restricted their mobility capabilities over previous years. Many thanks go out to those who made this all happen, and also to the donations that come through from the many who make this all possible.
After coming off a challenging period lasting much longer than expected, things are getting back to normal, and our meeting scheduling has been firmed up. Meetings have resumed from October through late April, a slight change from previous years. The times will remain the same, with meetings starting at 11 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The next scheduled meeting is set for Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. Meetings are scheduled for the Pima Room, which is on the upper level of the SunBird Community Center. Typically, when possible, a significant part of our agenda is the participation of a guest speaker. At present, details are unavailable, but all club members will be notified when information becomes available.
Being a service organization, we are well aware that we all are vulnerable to the unexpected, and accidents do happen. One of the club’s main goals is to be able to provide help and support in the best manner possible when needed. Our doors are always open, and help is only a phone call away. Our club maintains a significant amount of medical supplies that are available from our storage facilities and always available to those in need. Feel free to call the chapter commander regarding additional details on what we currently have in inventory or any other question you may have regarding club membership. He can be reached at 480-802-2532 and would be happy to talk to you.
