Karen Gilmore hoists the trophy for Club Champion for 2019. She won the two-day event with a score of 142 with a handful of women golfers coming in just behind her. On the first Tuesday, Karen shot a 73 and was three strokes off the lead. On the last day, she caught up on the front nine and then added two birdies on the back nine. “From then on, it was a matter of playing steady golf to stay in the lead.” Steady, no-emergency, Gilmore Golf.
Karen focuses her practice on 100 yards and in. She believes that she can make the most improvement in her game by eliminating wasted shots from 100 yards to the cup.
Karen and Cindy are getting ready to return to their summer home in Chewelah, Washington, north of Spokane, where they will begin their summer season with Chewelah Golf and Country Club and their travel team Review Cup.
Karen is a great champion for our Lady 18ers, not only because she plays well, but she is an ambassador for golf. She promotes the game, encourages us every week and enjoys playing golf in whatever pairing she joins.
