The landscape across Arizona made it a prime location for Westerns, many featuring John Wayne. Walt Disney also filmed in Arizona, as well as Andy Warhol and the Coen Brothers. Marshall Shore presents this fascinating look at cinema history.

Tuesday, July 17, at 1:00 p.m.: The Junk Lady for Adults: Make a Cholla Skeleton Charm
Cholla skeletons are the dried, woody portions from inside the cholla cactus that have been beautifully weathered by the desert heat, sun and wind. Use these lacy natural treasures to make charms that can be worn as pendants. No jewelry making experience is necessary. Adults 18 and over. Registration required.

Learn your way around the library’s website. We will cover things including checking your account, where to find digital downloads, databases and more.
Tuesday, July 24, at 1:00 p.m.: Sounds of the Bagpipes*
The bagpipes bring to mind the folklore and culture of Scotland. Join us as two pipers from the Phoenix Pipe Band play the bagpipes and discuss the history of this fascinating instrument!
Monday, July 30, at 1:00 p.m.: Unwind at Adult Coloring Time
Adult coloring is sweeping the country! If you haven’t heard, adult coloring helps promote our general wellness. Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided. Program limited to 40 attendees.
*Seating will begin 15 minutes before the program starts. Limit 100 people.
