From The Pro Shop

It’s June, and the Heat is on. Summer came extra early with some 100-degree days in April and May. With the heat bearing down on us, we see very few players in the afternoons. With that in mind, we will go to our summer hours for the remainder of the summer months.

Pro shop hours: 6:00 a.m. to noon. Call-in for tee times and hole assignments will be at 6:15 a.m. If you would like to play in the afternoon, please make the arrangements with pro shop in the morning.

We will continue with the following schedules for the summer months:

Sunday: Tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. Niner couples off back nine every other week

Monday: Shotgun start 7:00 a.m.

Tuesday: Tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. Lady Niners shotgun 7:00 a.m. back 9

Wednesday: Shotgun start 7:00 a.m.

Thursday: Shotgun start 7:00 a.m.

Friday: Tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. Niner couples 7:00 a.m. shotgun back 9

Saturday: Shotgun start 7:00 a.m.

On the days of our shotgun starts, there will always be the possibility of tee times starting at between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. after the shotgun finishes.

To repeat what I said in May, our superintendent and his crew are putting forth their best effort to improve the conditions of the course, and we do see progress taking place and conditions are improving. We can continue to help by observing the 90-degree rule and keeping carts on the cart paths whenever possible. Also, keep carts on the cart paths around all greens and stay on cart paths on the par 3s. Use your sand for divots on the fairways and fix ball marks on the greens.

We see a number of people with baskets for range balls in their carts, and we know the baskets belong on the range. You may have some of your own old golf balls in there that you are intending to hit on the range; however, please return the baskets to the range. Imagine if everyone took a basket to use!

Next tournament will be Wednesday, July 4. Help us celebrate the 4th with our golf tournament.

Happy golfing and stay cool.
