Footnotes from the Library

Nancy Smith

November brings us thoughts of autumn in the air, Thanksgiving, and, yes, elections.

The SunBird Library has a good selection of “president books” and many about their wives. The non-fiction section has political views by O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh.

In the Biography section, you’ll find Jimmy Carter’s book Keeping Faith. There are three books from the Clinton family, including Hillary Clinton’s book It Takes A Village. There are The Reagan Diaries and nine books about the Bush family. Both Harry and Margaret Truman have books. A real gem is the book Lincoln’s Hand which has his original manuscripts. These are only a few of the wonderful assortment on the shelves.

Under Non-Fiction, you’ll find Brokaw’s classic The Greatest Generation and Jim Bishop’s masterpiece The Day Kennedy Was Shot. Another autobiography book is Agent Bishop by Mike McPheters who was both an FBI agent and Mormon Bishop—a true story.

So, now you can be “Presidential” and read all about it.
