Electronic gates

SunBird Community electronic vehicle control gates are designed to be a deterrent to unauthorized vehicles, but in no way guarantee personal safety or security.

Riggs Road/Championship = entry and exit

Hunt Highway/Championship = entry and exit

Waterview Road/Cooper = exit only

Kerby Farms Road/Cooper = entry and exit

Pedestrian gates at all four locations

Residents: To activate the gates and/or raise the barrier arm, point the remote toward the gate and wait for it to swing open. A remote is required at the entry gates. To exit, pull the vehicle close to the gate and wait for it to swing open. All the gates will swing away from the vehicle. Gate remote controls may be purchased for $35.00 each at the HOA office.

Pedestrian Gates: Pedestrian gates are locked 24 hours each day. A key for the pedestrian gate may be purchased for $3.00 at the HOA office.

Guest, Contractor Guest, Contractor: If a local phone number (480 or 602 area code) is provided on the Vehicle Gate Remote Control application, the last name and first initial of the resident will be listed on the alphabetical directory located at the Riggs Road Guest Gate. The phone number is not visible.

After hours, visitors may electronically scroll through the directory to your last name. By pressing the “Call” button next to the selected name, the system automatically dials the listed number. When answering the phone, the resident and visitor are able to hold a brief conversation. The resident grants or denies access to guests. Pressing the “9” button and hanging up automatically opens the gates allowing the visitor to drive through. The gates automatically close. If the resident does not wish to admit the guest, the resident simply terminates the call by hanging up the phone. Residents are assigned a personal four-digit code to give to frequent guests, family or friends. If they are entering at the Resident side gate (on the right), put in a “0” and the code; if they are entering at the Guest gate (on the left), put in a “#” and the code. The code allows the guest to admit themselves at any time, eliminating the need for the resident to be home.

Emergency Vehicles: A fire, police and ambulance emergency switch allows immediate access.

Cautions: Never attempt to force a gate open. Severe damage will occur to both the vehicle and the gate. SunBird Community is not responsible for any damages to either vehicles or gates. Appropriate emergency numbers are available at the Riggs Road Gate. In case of a power failure, the gates will be opened manually and remain open until power returns.

SunBird Golf Resort Homeowners Association is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged remotes, or replacement of batteries.
