Mary Lou Kaye
Basic social dance classes at SunBird Golf Resort resumed in March after a big misstep in January resulting in a broken leg for Mary Lou Kaye who teaches this fun and popular course in the ballroom of this lovely community.
But the active folks in the program never complained for a moment. The students actually continued to meet weekly for practice sessions, working on assignments and music provided by their absent instructor. Since they were familiar with the teaching methods, they were able to help each other out and act as cheerleaders for each other. Mary Lou’s dancing family is definitely composed of some very special people.
These assignments were designed to keep the dancers from losing or forgetting their newly developed skills from the past session. In this way, at the start of the next session, they will be ready to pick up where they left off and advance to higher levels without losing any ground due to a sustained absence from the dance floor.
