Did you know that right here in Sun Lakes you can learn about art history? Or learn about how seniors age? Or learn about the history of Arizona? Or learn estate planning or how to garden in Arizona? This is a small sample of the over 90 classes that are offered to adult learners through New Adventures in Learning.
New Adventures is the adult educational program which offers classes from academic to technical and from recreational to home/self-improvement. Classes are presented by volunteers from the membership and from the community at large. Classes are so diverse there is something for everyone wanting to continue learning. New Adventures was started in 1998 and has continued to grow to over 500 members.
Classes are fun and one to two hours in length. There are no tests or grades, no homework and there is no pressure. You can sit back and relax and let the instructors take you on an adventure. New Adventures is located at the Chandler/Gilbert Community College at the corner of Riggs Road and Alma School. This is a state of the art facility and there is ample parking close to the building.
If you are considering becoming a member of New Adventures and you would like more information you are invited to a special event presented by the New Adventures in Learning Governing Council. This event will be on Thursday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Sun Lakes Center. To find out more about this event and to reserve a spot please call 480-857-5500 or stop by the school at 25105 S. Alma School Road at the corner of Riggs and Alma School.
If you have been asking yourself whether New Adventures is right for you please give us a call. Don’t let another semester of new classes go by without being a part of the learning.
