Desert Navy Update

Richard Volpe

As we move forward toward the Labor Day weekend and leave the summer months behind, we can all look ahead to the good weather we’ve been waiting for, a lot of new faces coming into the area, and so many new opportunities for all to enjoy everything that this great state has to offer. The Desert Navy is planning on getting things back on track again, having monthly meetings once again starting at the normal times in October. Throughout the summer, the Desert Navy and many of its members continued staying in touch with weekly lunch get-togethers and were always available to help support anybody who experienced unexpected hardships in the area.

As a club, it maintains warehouse facilities that house an extensive assortment of medical equipment, and they are happy to help anybody when an unexpected situation hits home. Everything is just a phone call away, and several motorized units are available for those who may have a need. For additional details, call Richard Volpe at the number listed below. This equipment is maintained and kept in tip-top shape and is available to those in need once a call is made.

Several club members do continue to meet on a weekly basis at the IHOP located within the Target Shopping Center off Arizona Avenue. These get-togethers are held on a weekly basis and typically are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons.

The Desert Navy welcomes all veterans who served time in the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines. New members are always welcome. For additional information regarding membership, medical supplies, and club activities, feel free to call Rich Volpe. He can be reached at 480-802-2532, and I’m sure he would be happy to talk to you.

Have a great day! Stay safe and stay healthy.
